Meet Neri, a fourth-generation coffee producer who has faced the struggles of running a small farm in the coffee industry. Despite his extensive resume in the industry, including working for Rogers family company, now known as San Francisco Bay Coffee Company, as a production and maintenance manager, Neri found himself struggling to make a living for him and his family.
In pursuit of his passion to become a coffee professional, Neri left his job and dedicated himself to becoming a standout barista, roaster and producer. However, like many producers, he grew desperate to make ends meet and was on the verge of migrating north to the United States.
Neri's aspirations were given new hope when he crossed paths with Ethic Hub, Cosechando Riqueza, and NOBL. With their support, Neri has taken the coffee from his farm and local community and created a natural fermented processed coffee. His ultimate goal is to work with his family's parcels, raise the quality of his coffee, and reach buyers directly in order to earn a comfortable living for himself and his loved ones.
Neri's dedication to his craft, commitment to his community, and partnership with leading coffee industry organizations are a testament to his fierce determination to succeed in the face of adversity. In an industry where there’s scarcity of young producers he has given hope to other young producers to remain in their lands and produce specialty coffee. Join Neri on his journey as he works tirelessly to produce high-quality coffee that is both sustainable and economically viable for himself and his community.
